Changing the Way People See Wolves
For centuries, wolves have been defined by fear, folklore, and political convenience.
Our Mission
Tahoe Wolf Center is a nonprofit organization based in South Lake Tahoe, California. Our mission is to advance wolf conservation and recovery through public education, responsible advocacy, and the communication of credible science.
We work to correct persistent misconceptions about wolves, deepen public understanding of wild canids, and encourage policies and practices that allow wildlife and human communities to share the landscape.
WHAT WE DO
EDUCATION
We turn decades of firsthand experience into accessible education for schools, communities, wildlife advocates, animal professionals, and the public.
ADVOCACY
We support scientifically sound, humane wolf management and challenge policies built on fear, misinformation, or convenience.
CONSERVATION
We explain why conserving wolves also requires healthy habitat, native prey, responsible animal husbandry, and meaningful coexistence.
